Police end standoff with man on roof

A man has come down from the roof of a house in Manning after a two-hour standoff with police.

Several officers including a police negotiators converged on a Crawshaw Crescent home about 8.30am.

The man pulled a television aerial out of the roof.

The man was offered water if he came down and at one point went close to the ladder before returning to the top of the roof and sitting down.

Police were on the roofs of neighbouring houses and at the rear of the house.

The man eventually agreed to get down and climbed down the ladder as police looked on.

He was checked by paramedics at the scene.

It is understood the man may be wanted for questioning in relation to a series of burglaries.
