Driver fleeing police crashes car into house

A driver allegedly fleeing from police lost control of his car and crashed through a fence and into the front of a house overnight.

Police say the driver of a silver Commodore sped away after officers tried to stop the car about 12.30am.

The driver lost control on a corner and crashed through a fence and into the patio of a unit on the corner of Filburn and Manning Streets in Scarborough.

No-one was in the unit at the time.

The fence and patio were extensively damaged.

A 22-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car received minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

A 23-year-old Mosman Park man, who police say was the driver of the vehicle, has been charged with excess 0.08, reckless driving and failing to stop.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on January 29.
