Fire hits Tradewinds Hotel

Guests were among those evacuated from the Tradewinds Hotel in East Fremantle this morning after fire took hold in a kitchen of the landmark building.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire started accidentally at 1.20am.

It took about 30 firefighters from Kensington, Murdoch, Fremantle and Claremont 25 minutes to ensure the blaze was under control.

No one was injured in the fire, which caused $250,000 damage.
