Graffiti crackdown charges 26 people

A police crackdown on graffiti vandals launched this week has already seen 26 people charged or summonsed with 213 offences.

A 15-year-old Gosnells boy is facing six criminal damage charges and will be questioned over a further 123 incidents.

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have been charged with 27 offences including criminal damage and trespass.

One of the people pictured in Monday’s The West Australian has been apprehended and charged over his alleged vandalism.

A police spokesman thanked the community for their strong support for this latest Operation Eraser.

“We encourage people to continue coming forward with information regarding graffiti offenders,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman also invited anyone involved in graffiti vandalism to hand themselves in.

“Come and see us before we come and see you,” he said.
