A Pilbara man has been arrested over an incident where a police car was rammed by a 4WD last month.

Two police officers were hospitalised after attending a break-in at the house in the Karratha suburb of Nickol on August 29.

Two men forced their way into the Windgrass Way home and assaulted a man and a woman before stealing their Toyota Landcruiser.

Police, who were called to the property, blocked the road with their police vehicle in an attempt to stop the thieves from driving away but were rammed by the 4WD several times.

The police vehicle was pushed about three metres across the road before the thieves drove away in the 4WD.

One of the officers received leg injuries and the other was injured in his neck and back after the crash.

A 24-year-old Millars Well man was arrested yesterday and charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, an unlawful act with intent to harm, assault occasioning bodily harm, assault and stealing a motor vehicle.

He will appear in the Perth Magistrate's Court today.
