Drugs, weapons, $25,000 cash and a Harley Davidson motorbike were seized yesterday during simultaneous raids of properties linked to the Rebels bikie gang in the South West.

Six Busselton properties and two in Bunbury were targeted by the gang crime squad and local police, including the home of a prominent member of the Rebels Busselton chapter and clubhouse.

Police have charged four people in relation to the raids at homes which were all believed to be linked to the bikie gang.

The raids netted 20 ecstasy tablets and a small amount of MDMA powder, 2g of cannabis and about 200g of an unidentified powder. Weapons confiscated included two machetes, pepper spray, a stun gun and a homemade firearm.

Police also seized a Harley Davidson motorbike, eight dexamphetamines, two steroid ampoules, three smoking implements, $25,000 in cash - $22,000 of which was seized in Bunbury - and a .22 calibre round.

Police charged 21-year-old Busselton man, who is a nominee of the gang, with possession of a stun gun and a 32-year-old Leschenault woman, who is an associate of the gang, with cannabis possession.

A 27-year-old male Rebels member from Busselton has also been charged with three counts of possessing drugs, including steroid and prescription drugs and a 26-year-old male gang associate from Busselton was charged with cannabis possession, possessing unlicenced ammunition and two counts of possessing a smoking implement.

Busselton police Senior Sergeant Steve Principe said officers were constantly trying to reduce the footprint of the Rebels in Busselton.

“Bikies’ activities have a negative influence on our community and we’re going to do everything possible to stop that negative effect and keep everyone safe,” he said.

“Any result that reduces their ability to access drugs and firearms is a big win for us.”
