A man who threatened pizza shop staff with a knife escaped with stolen cash on a bicycle.

"Just before 1am this morning, a man armed with a knife threatened staff at a pizza store located on Recreation Drive in Eaton," a police spokeswoman said.

"The man was given a sum of cash and he was last seen riding a bicycle south on Eaton Drive."

He is described as being 20 to 30 years of age, fair skinned with a medium build, approximately 160 to 170cms tall. He was wearing a hooded jacket and jeans.
