Fatality as car hits Williamstown houses

A man has died after a ute crashed into two houses in Kalgoorlie-Boulder yesterday.

The white Toyota Land Cruiser was stolen from an business on Hannan Street at 5.40pm and was soon spotted on Williamstown Road, Williamstown.

Police believe the driver lost control and veered onto the wrong side of the road before smashing through a fence and into two houses.

The driver, a 20-year-old Kalgoorlie man, received medical treatment at the scene but

died from his injuries.

Williamstown resident Herman Tummers, 65, was only metres from the car when it struck his house.

Another resident has described the scenario as horrific when she arrived home yesterday evening.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
