Cold snap makes way for rain

Perth's run of chilly mornings may be set to ease slightly, with storms and showers expected to hit the city in coming days.

The mercury dropped to 3.7C in Perth this morning, continuing the run of near-freezing mornings over the past week.

Jandakot copped the iciest start to the morning, with temperatures falling to just 0.5C at 5am.

Mandurah faired better with a comparatively balmy minimum of 10.4C at 3am.

Sunny conditions are expected in the city today, with a top of 21C, before the rain rolls in tomorrow.

The Weather Bureau is forecasting increasing showers for Tuesday, with possible heavy falls and isolated thunderstorms increasing throughout the morning.

The cloudy weather is forecast to continue through to the weekend.
