A 71-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car in West Perth.

The woman was walking along Charles Street at 9pm last night when she was hit by a grey Toyota Aristo, which was heading down a decline in the road, towards Ivy Street.

St John Ambulance confirmed the woman suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

Police have called for any witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw the woman or vehicle before the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
