Surgery follows Port Beach bashing

A black Fiat and a green and beige jacket are clues to the identity of a man sought by police over an alleged assault.

Fremantle Police are looking for information about a serious assault in Fremantle on Saturday April 16.

About 3.45pm on that day, a 25-year-old man was at north end of Port Beach carpark in Fremantle when he was approached by a group of 15-20 men and women all aged around 18 years old.

One of the men in the group allegedly attacked the victim.

The alleged offender is described as fair skinned, approximately 180cm tall, of skinny build, with light brown hair.

He was wearing a baseball cap, a green and beige jacket and light coloured shorts.

After the alleged incident the group made their way from the north end to the south end of the carpark in a minibus where they then entered the High Tide beach party event.

The victim followed and advised door staff what had happened, and the alleged offender and a female he was with were refused entry.

They left the event in a black vehicle described as a Fiat with green P-Plates.

The victim followed the Fiat to the Cottesloe area where a male and a female were dropped off.

The victim received significant injuries during the incident, and has had surgery as a result of the attack.
