The father accused of abandoning his injured three-year-old daughter in a burning car as he fled police has appeared in court.

Bevan Stanley Cameron, 25, had ten charges laid against him after an alleged rampage in which he is accused of bashing his former partner's niece in Ellenbrook on Sunday, grabbing his daughter and crashing a stolen vehicle on Great Eastern Highway.

His daughter Ebony-May Simpson was rescued from the burning vehicle by police and was in a stable condition yesterday after having emergency surgery for a torn bladder and treated with a spinal splint.

Mr Cameron was arrested by police after fleeing the scene and treated for leg and foot injuries before a bed-side hearing over Easter.

Wearing prison greens and with his injured foot elevated, Mr Cameron appeared on videolink today in the Perth Magistrate's Court and asked for a remand so he could get a lawyer via the Aboriginal Legal Service.

He also disputed court notes from his bedside hearing which suggested he had been refused bail already by a magistrate who deemed him a flight risk.

Mr Cameron will reappear in court on April 30.
