Knife alleged in servo hold-ups

Two men have been charged over armed hold-ups at service stations in the southern suburbs on Tuesday.

Police will allege that between 3.45am and 4.30am, one of the men entered a service station on Gilbertson Road in Kardinya armed with a knife.

He allegedly fled the scene empty-handed in a car driven by the other man.

A short time later, police allege the same man entered a service station in Naval Base brandishing a knife.

A police spokeswoman said he stole some cash then left the area in the car driven by his alleged accomplice.

Yesterday, police charged a 29-year-old Beeliar man and a 22-year-old Bertram man with aggravated armed robbery and attempted aggravated armed robbery.

They are due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today.
