Buswell chief quits job

Troy Buswell's former chief of staff Rachael Turnseck has resigned from the State Government.

Ms Turnseck, who had been assisting with Budget preparations in Treasurer Mike Nahan's office after Mr Buswell's resignation from the ministry, finished with the Government yesterday.

Ms Turnseck became embroiled in the fallout of Mr Buswell's decision to drive his ministerial car after hours of drinking at a wedding when it emerged she knew about damage to the car but did not tell anyone in Government about it when the former treasurer went on personal leave on February 24.

"Ms Turnseck has resigned to take up another opportunity," a spokeswoman for the Department of Premier and Cabinet said.

"She will receive the normal entitlements that apply and have applied under successive governments to 'term of government' employees when their contracts end."

The entitlements include accrued leave, two weeks salary for each year of service and four weeks in lieu of notice.

It is understood WA Police are yet to speak to Mr Buswell almost five weeks after the wedding.
