Police probe Mt Lawley assault

Police are investigating an assault at a Mt Lawley home which left a 57-year-old man with bleeding on the brain.

The man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital on Friday with cuts and abrasions but his condition deteriorated over the weekend.

Sen. Sgt Greg French said the victim initially “harassed” his attacker at the Gerald Street property when the man retaliated.

The man was allegedly dragged, kicked and stomped on during the attack.

Detectives were arranging an interpreter to interview a person of interest, who does not speak English.

The 57-year-old man is in a stable condition.
