Fire forced the evacuation of the Woolworths depot at Perth Airport this morning.

The fire, burning between Abernethy Road and Tonkin Highway near Perth Airport, was first reported at 12.51am.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services said there was no danger to lives or homes but motorists are advised of delays in the area.

More than 40 firefighters are working to contain the fire and police are also on scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

A 40km/h speed restriction is in place for Tonkin Highway between Horrie Miller Drive and Roe Highway in both directions.
