Teen passenger assaults transit guards

An 18-year-old man allegedly assaulted two transit officers who were escorting him off a Perth-bound train at Kwinana station last night.

A police spokeswoman said the man was removed from the train about 9.20pm because he was carrying alcohol.

It is alleged the man assaulted both the male officers before he ran into bush near the train station in Bertram.

He was tracked down by police dog Ernie.

The man, of South Lake, was taken into custody and has been charged with two counts of assaulting a public officer and one count of disorderly conduct.

The date he will appear in court is yet to be determined.
