Rotto trip puts girls in spotlight

They were pictured this week soaking up the sunshine on a luxury boat off Rottnest Island with swimsuit model Lara Bingle.

But Perth friends Nadia Rosa and Emmi Moore never imagined their fun day in the sun with the reality TV star would make international headlines.

Photos of the bikini-clad trio relaxing on a luxury super catamaran, owned by Mineral Resources managing director Chris Ellison, a family friend of Rosa, appeared on Bingle's Instagram page on Monday and became an online hit.

Garnering such widespread media attention also meant Moore and Rosa, the stepsister of late Oscar-winning actor Heath Ledger, gained a bevy of new social media followers.

"It was just a bit of fun, a bit of an escape," Rosa said this week.

"Then there was an article that went up in the UK. It was crazy."

Rosa, 26, met Bingle while working in fashion in Sydney several years ago.

"We've been good friends for a while," she said.

"She's such a gorgeous girl and she's so down to earth."

Rosa was introduced to Bingle's boyfriend, Rockingham-raised actor Sam Worthington, with the couple recently enjoying a casual dinner at the Ledgers' family home.

"I knew she was here, so we caught up a few times and she came around for dinner," Rosa said. "He's lovely, really lovely. They're both lovely. My mum (Ines Ledger) loves her, too."

Moore, a former model who recently became engaged to West Coast Eagles footballer Chris Masten, became friends with Bingle when she was in town last year for local designer Garth Cook's spring-summer launch.

Rosa and Moore, who met last year while working at local fashion boutique Billie & Rose, are planning to launch their own public relations agency soon.
