The Opposition will this morning submit its Metronet rail plan for Treasury costing as the transport debate turns nasty, with Labor threatening to sue radio stations airing a "misleading" Liberal advertisement.

Labor State secretary Simon Mead has written to Perth's three major radio networks refuting the advertisement's claim its Perth Airport station would be 1.5km from the terminal.

Shadow transport minister Ken Travers in turn rubbished the Liberals for proposing an Airport West station by 2018 at the domestic terminal, which is closing by 2020 and relocating to the international terminal.

Under-Treasurer Tim Marney is due to release his costing of Metronet on Friday.
