Firefighters and aerial surveillance are working to extinguish a bushfire near Norseman this morning.
A bushfire advice has been issued for an area north-west of Lake Johnson in the Shire of Dundas. The fire is moving slowly in a northerly direction.
This includes the Hyden-Norseman Road and Victoria Rock Road.
The fire is in a remote area and there is no threat to lives or homes, however there is smoke in the area which will be visible from a distance.
The fire was reported at 4.11pm yesterday and the cause is not known.
In the North West, a smoke alert has been issued for people travelling on the North West Coastal Highway between 15 kilometres east of Karratha in the Shire of Roebourne.
The fire started near the Nickol River and is burning towards the highway.
There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is warning motorists travelling along the North West Coastal Highway between the Karratha light industrial area and the Cleaverville turnoff to take extreme caution when driving through smoke and areas of low visibility.
