A teenager has died after falling 13m from rocks at a treacherous section of Serpentine Falls where more than a dozen people have died over the past 40 years.
The 19-year-old man slipped from a cliff edge high above a popular swimming hole about 2.15pm yesterday as he climbed down to a ledge where he was planning to jump into the water.
Friends dragged him to shore unconscious after he fell onto rocks in the water and tried in vain to resuscitate him until paramedics arrived.
The 19-year-old, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Armadale Hospital but he was pronounced dead just before 6pm.
It is believed the 19-year-old had been with two work colleagues when he was fatally injured.
