Gun threat for verge scavengers
Two people scavenging through verge collection items outside an Armadale home claim they were threatened with a replica firearm by a neighbour at the weekend.
A 26-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man stopped outside a house on Doorigo Road about 11.50pm on Saturday to look at discarded items.
Police said a man came out of a nearby house and verbally abused the pair. When they returned to their car, the man came to the driver's window and pointed what looked like a firearm towards them.
They drove off and called police who visited the man's home and allegedly found a replica firearm hidden in a lounge suite.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear, possessing methylamphetamine and possessing drug paraphernalia.
He is due in Armadale Magistrate's Court on February 28.
