Today New York, tomorrow Australind

Perth-raised model Nicole Trunfio has revealed that her rock star boyfriend, Gary Clark Jr, reckons he could live in Australind after the pair visited the South West town.

Speaking at the New York launch of her new jewellery collection, Trunfio said the couple had stayed in her "childhood bed" while visiting her family last month when Clark was touring with the Big Day Out.

"We had a barbecue, ate leftovers, Dad and Gary get along really well," Trunfio, 26, said.

Clark, 29, must have really enjoyed the home cooking, telling Trunfio: "I want to live here." She assumed he meant Australia but when she quizzed him, Clark replied: "No, I mean Australind."

Trunfio also has a musical bent. She will release an EP next month, which she describes as "bit of fun", with her band, Henry Black.

Trunfio Jewels has a gallery and studio in Tribeca, Lower Manhattan. She says she is passionate about the business and determined to "create something that will outlive me".
