Police have charged a man over an armed robbery in almost 20 years ago after he went to a police station yesterday and confessed.

It is alleged the 49-year-old Stirling man, who was 30 at the time of the robbery, entered a pharmacy on Albany Highway armed with a firearm on November 6, 1994.

The man allegedly demanded cash and drugs from a staff member, who handed over money.

He fled on foot.
