A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Gascoyne, Goldfields, Central West and Central Wheat Belt districts.

There is a risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening which could bring damaging winds and large hail. Heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding.

People in an area bounded by Meekatharra to Leinster to Southern Cross to York to Morawa to Meekatharra, including people in, near or between Meekatharra, Southern Cross, York and Dalwallinu are warned to be prepared.

The overall weather pattern is not unusual for this time of year, but severe weather may occur in some parts of the warning area.
