A member of a notorious car club has had his driver's licence suspended for life after he pleaded guilty to a hoon incident while he was driving on an extraordinary licence.

David Lloyd Coxe, a member of Perth car club Running on Empty, appeared in the Armadale Magistrate's Court this morning where he pleaded guilty to three offences including reckless driving and driving contrary to the conditions of an extraordinary licence.

Coxe was accused of doing a burnout on Cartwright Drive, Forrestdale in January last year.

Coxe was this morning given an eight month suspended term of imprisonment for the reckless driving and his driver's licence has been suspended for life.

He was also fined $500 for failing to ensure a passenger wore a seatbelt.
