A teenager is in a critical condition in hospital after he crashed his scooter into a parked car in Dianella last night.

Insp. Derek Staats said the 18-year-old man suffered life-threatening head injuries.

The man lost control of his scooter and slammed into the back of the parked Toyota Camry on Grand Promenade, near Elsegood Street, about 11.20pm.

Insp. Staats said emergency services crews found the man unconscious and bleeding at the scene.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital under priority conditions.

He was admitted to the intensive care unit last night.
