UPDATE 6pm: Police are interviewing residents at a block of units in Maylands they believe may be connected to the woman found dead in Maddington this morning.

Police were called to Valencia Way about 6.30am after her body was found near the verge by a local worker. She was naked and had suffered major head injuries.

A spokesman confirmed that the death was being treated as a homicide.

Forensic officers, local detectives and major crime squad are at the Maddington scene. The street has been cordoned off.

Police don't believe the crime was committed on the Maddington street and are looking for another crime scene.
