Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious motorcycle crash in North Fremantle yesterday afternoon.

A 35-year-old Mt Hawthorn man was riding his motorbike north along Queen Victoria Street near the intersection of Stirling Highway about 4pm.

As he approached the intersection he tried to overtake a car, causing the front wheel of the motorbike to hit a concrete median strip and the vehicle to become airborne and hit the road.

The man was taken to Fremantle Hospital with serious injuries.

Anyone who saw the crash or has any other information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
