Gina Rinehart is poised to follow her father's footsteps on a second front, with the mining billionaire set to launch a book of political essays.

Titled Northern Australia, and Then Some - Changes We Need to Make Our Country Rich, it will be launched at private events in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney on November 22.

The date is significant for the Rinehart family as the 60th anniversary of Lang Hancock's flight over the Pilbara, when the prospector discovered some of the iron ore deposits that form the basis of the family's vast wealth.

It is understood Mrs Rinehart will not be at the Perth launch.

A promotional blurb says the book is a collection from speeches and notes.

Mrs Rinehart has long pushed for a special economic area in the Top End with a foreign workers zone, lower tax rates and less regulation for companies starting up.
