UPDATE 8am: A Perth man has been charged after he was allegedly caught viewing images of children at an internet cafe online.
City detectives arrested Bradley Pen Dragon yesterday afternoon and took him to Curtin House for questioning after computer experts completed their analysis of the internet cafe computer that he was using about 10.30pm on July 6.
Pen Dragon has been released and charged by summons with possessing an article with intent to cause fear over a scuffle with another internet cafe user who confronted the 52-year-old over the images he was allegedly accessing.
Witnesses say a man in the internet cafe raised concerns about the images he was looking at. The man took photographs of Pen Dragon and complained to the cafe manager about what he suspected he was doing.
Witnesses claim the pair wrestled and at one stage Pen Dragon had the other man on the ground and was trying to stab him with a pocket knife. Bystanders yelled at him to put the knife down with some reportedly kicking the 52-year-old to try to stop the attack.
It is understood Pen Dragon bought a ticket for 30 hours of internet time on Friday morning and had spent some time in the morning at the cafe. Witnesses claim he returned about 12.30pm and spent almost 10 hours browsing internet sites before the confrontation.
Police inquiries into Pen Dragon's internet use are continuing.
He will appear in court at a later date.
