Catching the bus to the airport

Shuttle buses operate at Perth Airport to connect terminals and long-term car parks.

Reader John Angus enjoyed Gemma Nisbet’s recent Travel Essentials Guide and has something to add.

“In relation to the bus service to/from the airport, I would just add that the 37 and 40 Transperth service is a great service to (and from) T3 and T4 (except to Perth on a Sunday night).

“For T1 and T2 there is a free Connect bus service to/from T3 and T4 every 20 minutes for much of the day.”

THE FULL DETAILS

To and from Perth Airport T3 and T4, bus 40 is slightly faster/more direct than the 37. (Some 37s terminate in Belmont — people need to make sure they have an airport 37.)

The last bus to Perth leaves at 7pm on a Sunday evening — otherwise it’s a great service.

Bus 40

To the airport: Monday-Friday approximately every half hour from Esplanade Busport from 5.55am to 11.30pm; Saturday from 7am to 7.40pm and then every hour to 11.40pm; Sunday and public holidays from 8.40am, then quarter past the hour from 9.15am to 7.15pm

From the airport: Monday-Friday approximately every half hour from 5.31am to 12.09am; Saturday every half hour from 6.15am to 8.30pm, then every hour to 11.20pm; Sunday every hour from 8am to 7pm.

The free terminal transfer bus between T3 and T4, and T1 and T2, is as follows:

From T1/T2: Between 6am and midnight, on the hour and at 20-minute intervals. Between midnight and 6am, on the hour and at 30-minutes intervals.

From T3/T4: Between 6am and midnight, on the hour and at 20-minute intervals. Between midnight and 6am, at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour.
