The Swan Valley is a great place to go for animals, a barbecue, some fresh air and a day with the family or friends. From the WA Reptile Park to Caversham Wildlife Park and Oasis Supa Golf there is plenty to keep everyone happy.

  • *WA Reptile Park * *

In Henley Brook, the WA Reptile Park has snakes, lizards, freshwater crocodiles and even a South American boa constrictor. Hold a python? There's other wildlife, and plenty of information - a great spot for a bit of passive learning. It has picnic and barbecue facilities and is open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 10am to 5pm.

  • *Cuddly Animal Farm * *

Alpaca, llama, red deer, ponies, miniature donkeys, sheep and Armani the goat, chickens, hens and ducks. Boxer the red kangaroo and Ernie the emu. Cuddly Animal Farm is full of new friends - not to mention the really cuddly animals . . . lambs, rabbits, guinea pigs and piglets. And there's the chance to handle and feed them. There are barbecue and picnic facilities. Open every day 10.30am to 5pm. Entry is $13 for children and adults, $48 for a family or group of four, $60 for a family or group of five and $10 for concession holders.

  • Caversham Wildlife Park *

Caversham Wildlife Park is in Whiteman Park and has one of Australia's best collections of animals - kangaroos, koalas and camels among them. There's a farm show and the surrounding Whiteman Park has a number of facilities to keep the family happy all day. It is open daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

  • *Oasis Supa Golf and Adventure Putt * *

If the thought of a day hitting little golf balls into a bunker is too frustrating, then Oasis Supa Golf and Adventure Putt should be more appealing. For in "supa golf", players are armed with oversized clubs and balls to take on 18 holes, which are littered with bunkers and water traps. Each nine-hole course is 900m, so you can enjoy a light stroll. Oasis Supa Golf and Adventure Putt is open seven days a week - weekdays 9am to 4.30pm (last tee-off) and weekends 8am to 4.30pm (last tee-off).

For nine holes, it is $14 for adults, $11 for children over 15 and $6.50 for children between five and 15.
