Falcons use Kepler to lure Freo fans
West Perth will use the return of favourite son Kepler Bradley and a deal with Fremantle in their bid to attract a record home crowd against Peel tomorrow.
After their upset first-round win in the Foxtel Cup, the Falcons hope to ignite their WAFL premiership defence against the winless Thunder.
And they will attempt to drag up to 2500 spectators through the gates of Arena Joondalup by offering a special deal to Dockers members.
Bradley, who was a member of West Perth's 2003 premiership team and remains a hugely popular figure at Joondalup, will play his first match against his old club as part of Fremantle's alignment with Peel.
West Perth chief executive David Crute has also convinced Fremantle to allow the AFL club's members to attend the WAFL match at a discount.
"Fremantle are not playing that day so it is a golden oppor- tunity for Dockers members to turn up and watch some of their young players running around," Crute said.
"The AFL partnership is a reality and we have to look at ways that we can use it to our benefit.
"This is one of them. If we can get an extra 300 people turn up it will be a bonus, but we actually hope to get a few more than that."
West Perth's record home crowd against Peel is 2339 from the Anzac Day round in 2011.
The only other time the crowd has passed 2000 was a stand-alone fixture on Anzac Day in 2002.
Fremantle members will be able to attend the match for $10.
Crowds of 1610 (versus Claremont), 1960 (Perth) and 1690 (South Fremantle) have attended West Perth's three home games this season.
