The AFL has confirmed that Patersons Stadium will host the Foxtel Cup grand final between Claremont and VFL club Werribee on Thursday August 2.
This will be the second year Patersons Stadium has hosted the final after Claremont were defeated by Williamstown in the final last year.
The timing of it signals a move away from a clash with weekend fixtures as the AFL tries to attract a good crowd to the game.
The game is set for a 7.35pm bouncedown.
Claremont won their semifinal at Patersons Stadium on Saturday, beating VFL champions Port Melbourne.
