UPDATE: Perth Glory today announced the signing of former Gold Coast United defender Bas Van Den Brink.

The 28-year-old Dutch defender, who recently had a short spell in South Korea, is the 10th new player brought in by coach Ian Ferguson since the end of the last A-League season.

“Compared to last season I’m really pleased with the squad," Ferguson said.

“I feel that we have more depth now,” Ferguson added.

Van Den Brink played 51 times for Gold Coast in the two seasons since the club joined the league, scoring three times.

The former Utrecht man will join up with his ex-Gold Coast teammate Shane Smeltz at nib Stadium, while ex-Manchester United and Celtic midfielder Liam Miller, Evan Berger, Danny Vukovic, Neil Young, Dean Heffernan, Travis Dodd, Adam Hughes and Jesse Makarounas have also bolstered the squad.
