Perth Glory captain Jacob Burns has been ruled out of tomorrow night's game against Central Coast with an ongoing back complaint.

The influential midfielder has missed the past three matches and had been hopeful of overcoming the injury this week.

On Tuesday, Burns revealed he had injections in an attempt to heal the injury, but he was restricted to rehabilitation exercises at training this morning.

Glory teammate Travis Dodd said he felt for his frustrated captain.

"I can only imagine how hard it must be for him," Dodd said.

"It's not and injury like a hamstring or a tear of something where you can say you'll be back in four or five weeks.

"With a back (injury), it is quite difficult and especially with a new manager coming in."

Despite being on limited duties, Burns has still managed to have an influence on the squad.

"He has been at training on the sidelines speaking to the boys and even in the video session giving his input," Dodd said.

"It's good to have him still involved and I'm sure he's chomping at the bit to get back out there with the boys."

Glory full-back Scott Jamieson moved well at training this morning after missing last week's game with bone bruising in a foot.

But he was left out of what looked to be interim coach Alistair Edwards' first-choice line-up during match practice.
