Fresh faces on Force board

RugbyWA, the umbrella body of the Western Force, has four new directors including the first woman appointed to the board.

Marion Fulker, chief executive of the Committee for Perth and chairwoman of the Heritage Council has already served the Force as a member of the commercial services advisory committee.

She is also senior adjunct research fellow at the University of Western Australia.

The three other appointments are:

Hans Sauer, who has been involved with the Nedlands Club since 1994, is managing director of Clearguard mining services and engineering company.

John Edwards, regional director for Asia Pacific of Fugro-TSM, a sponsor of the Force since the clubs inception.

Kevin Gallagher chief executive and managing director of Clough Limited also sits on the advisory board for the Curtin School of Business.

In 2013 he was recognised by Australias CEO Magazine as the CEO of the Year and the Energy and Resources Executive of the Year.

Retiring directors are Steve Fink, Brent Stewart, Leon Davies and Ian Cochrane. Russel Perry remains chairman, David Redpath president and Tony Howarth, Charles Fear, Scott Staniforth (player representative) and David Vaux make up the new board.

Perry said the board would be looking for commercial success in conjunction with the significant on-field improvement.

“We are entering an exciting and very important period for our club and for rugby in Western Australia. I’m pleased to welcome the new birectors to our board to help realise the objectives and success were looking to achieve,” Perry said.
