Player yesterday opened Miata a $1.75 favourite in what might be her toughest test from box eight in Saturday night's Group 1 Superstayers Final (725m) at The Meadows.

Miata enhanced her extraordinary career record last Saturday night when she stood young gun Xlyia Allen about 10 lengths before pelting home to win the third and final heat of the series in 42.81sec. - 0.44sec. outside her best time at the track.

The champion WA greyhound will have heaps of speed on her inside with Destini Fireball, who has yet to be beaten at five starts over 725m, drawn in box one.

Destini Fireball, who is the $2.85 second favourite, stopped Miata from claiming successive wins in the Zoom Top (725m) last Saturday week. The Emilio Rinaldi-trained dog is chasing his second Group 1 after winning the Sale Cup last December.

Rinaldi brought General Destini from Victoria for the Perth Cup (530m) series at Cannington earlier this month. The dog missed the cup final but did win the $37,500 Perth Cup Consolation on February 9.

Player opened Spud Regis the $3.10 favourite to win Saturday night's Group 1 Australian Cup (525m) after he drew box one.
