Class pacer Lombo Navigator will be driven aggressively after drawing gate three in Friday night's $250,000 Yes Loans Fremantle Cup (2936m) at Gloucester Park.

The Andrew De Campo-trained gelding ran on strongly to finish sixth to odds-on favourite Im Themightyquinn in last Friday's $400,000 SEW Eurodrive WA Pacing Cup (2536m).

Im Themightyquinn will again dominate betting despite drawing inside the back line for the Group 1 race.

"Lombo Navigator will come out all guns blazing on Friday," De Campo said.

"He'll be put right into the race this week. It would be good to have an eight-length break on Im Themightyquinn at the 400m."

Former New Zealand reinsman Matthew White retains the drive on Lombo Navigator, who ran third in Perth's $1 million Inter Dominion Championship final (2506m) last March.

The cup draw yesterday featured a double stroke of good luck for De Campo, whose other runner Dasher VC received the pole position.

Dasher VC was having his first race for 11 weeks when third in the WA Pacing Cup.

"The horse pulled up last Friday as if there would be improvement in him," De Campo said.

"That was confirmed when I worked him this morning. He's definitely improved with the first-up run."

Top reinsman Gary Hall Jr's confidence has not been dented by Im Themightyquinn's awkward draw.

Hall said he would not go forward at the start and risk being trapped on the pegs.

"I'll restrain Quinnie back to last and be in the open," Hall said.

"We'll be ready to go in the three-wide line approaching the bell.

"We're drawn to follow out Dasher VC at the start. Dasher VC begins fast and in some circumstances it could have been tempting to go forward for a trail on him. Then we'd have to gamble on getting away from the pegs in the last lap."

Im Themightyquinn, trained by Hall's father Gary Sr, is seeking to add a fourth Fremantle Cup to his three WA Pacing Cups.

His stablemates Livingonthe- interest and Hokonui Ben have drawn gates two and nine in the Fremantle Cup.

"Livingontheinterest could just about have had enough in this campaign," Hall Jr said.

"But I rate Hokonui Ben as a genuine danger to Quinnie."
