Gun mare Power Princess backed up her brilliant Winterbottom Stakes performance to take out the $125,000 AJ Scahill Stakes (1400m) at Ascot.
After a fast-finishing second to Barakey in the Winterbottom (1200m), Power Princess started a dominant $2.15 favourite in the weight-for-age feature.
Jockey Paul Harvey had her beautifully positioned in fourth and she overcame doubts about running the 1400m when motoring home in the straight to win by 1¾ lengths.
Waratah’s Secret ($13) battled on gamely for an improved second and South Australian raider Conservatorium ($14) ran third.
Connections of Power Princess will consider a return trip to Adelaide or an assault on the KrisFlyer Sprint at Singapore next year.
“The 1400 didn’t worry me,” trainer Simon Miller said.
“Her work on Tuesday morning was brilliant. I’m so proud of her.
“She’ll go out now and we’ll consider going back to Adelaide.
“We’ve got an invite to Singapore for the KrisFlyer so that will be given serious consideration.”
In other news, Rebelson scored an impressive 1 ½ length win in the $80,000 Aquanita Stakes (1800m).
Mabel Grace overcame the 60kg topweight to edge Miss Vinnoire in a thrilling finish to the $80,000 Jungle Dawn Classic (1400m).
