Michael MacDermott says it would be a dream come true if Iseethings- youdon't forces his way into next Saturday's $1 million Carlton Draught Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot.

He owned more than 50 race- horses, broodmares, yearlings and foals until earlier this year, when he cut his team to 46 gallopers.

MacDermott has raced high-priced horses with household names, including Gerry Harvey, and sold horses to Bart Cummings.

However, his attention today is very much in Perth when his talented but lowly-rated galloper Iseethingsyoudon't steps out in the RJ Peters Stakes (1500m) in a bid to gain an exemption from the Railway ballot.

The Chris Gangemi-trained Iseethingsyoudon't's rating of 75 has him 42nd on the order of entry.

Player has a high opinion of the lightly raced five-year-old, making him a $5 second favourite behind Kerrific and Maschino, who head the market for the Group 3 feature at $3.80 apiece. Kerrific (25) and Maschino (35) also need to win to guarantee a Railway berth.

MacDermott said Iseethingsyoudon't would strip much fitter from his second-up start when he tired after leading to finish third to New Time over 1400m a fortnight ago.

"He won first-up over 1200m and just got a bit tired over the 1400m second-up," MacDermott said.

"When he won his first race he was green as grass. He stargazed at his next two starts and we put blinkers on him.

"He then won his next three starts in blinkers. You've got to have a go, and that is what we are doing.

"He is an on-pace runner and they are going to have to keep up with him. He can set a hard pace and go a long way with that hard pace."

MacDermott and his wife Jill bred Iseethingsyoudon't from his ill-fated sire Star Cross, out of the Tights mare Lexington Belle.

The gelding has won four of his seven starts.

"Most of the horses I own I race late," MacDermott said. "I've got so many of the things. I've got them all over the country. I've been buying horses since the early 80s."

Maschino again will have his admirers and trainer Graham Yuill said he was confident the strapping entire would perform well.

Maschino and Kerrific enter the Peters with strong form, having fought out the minor placings in the Northerly Stakes, behind King Saul, and the Asian Beau Stakes, won by Westriver Kevydonn, at their past two starts.

·Clint Harvey has been stood down by stewards after a banned substance was discovered in a urine sample earlier this month.
