Warnie to think about England job (The West)
Warnie to 'think about' England job (The West)

Could Shane Warne be the next England cricket coach? The Australian Test great said he 'would think about it'.

After their recent 5-0 Ashes loss to Australia England sacked coach Andy Flower.

Former Australia coach Mickey Arthur has put his hand up for the job as has former England spinner Ashley Giles.

But many English fans are apparently reaching out to Warne, a bowler who tormented them for over a decade and claimed 195 Ashes wickets.

It would be considered the ultimate betrayal by Australian cricket fans but Warne is failing to rule out the move.

Early this morning Warne responded to all his followers on Twitter with: "To my English followers, I'm flattered that you would like me to consider the England job, all I can say is - I will think about it!!!"

Warne often likes to cause a stir on the social media site and the scenario does seem rather unlikely.

But the fact that Warne filed to rule out the prospect altogether will have Aussie fans worried and Cricket Australia watching proceedings carefully.

England themselves would consider Warne's recruitment as a huge coup.

What do you think? Is Warne any chance to coach England?
