South Africa have won the toss and will bat in the deciding Test in Perth against an Australia side who have included debutant John Hastings.

Victoria quick Hastings, who received his cap from ex-Australian great Adam Gilchrist, got the nod over fellow new-boy Josh Hazlewood for the third Test at the WACA Ground.

Left-arm quicks Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc are also called up, while spinner Nathan Lyon retains his spot.

With James Pattinson out injured, the Aussies have opted for an all-change seam attack after deciding Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus would be unable to back up in successive matches following the drawn Adelaide Test, which finished on Monday.

Shane Watson will also bowl, the all-rounder in for Rob Quiney.

South Africa have called up Dean Elgar, who replaces out of sorts Jacques Rudolph.

Rory Kleinveldt drops out for the fit-again Vernon Philander, while leg-spinner Imran Tahir is axed after his Adelaide shocker for Robin Peterson.

The Proteas have decided to gamble on star all-rounder Jacques Kallis, despite the hamstring injury he suffered during the second Test.

The teams are so far 0-0 in the three-match series.
