Former Perth Wildcats champion Kevin Lisch was named MVP as Quebradllias Pirates beat Ponce Lions 89-72 in game six to win the best-of-seven Puerto Rican national league grand final series today.

The American guard registered 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists playing alongside Wildcats captain Shawn Redhage as the Pirates completed the 4-2 series win in front of their home fans.

Lisch again proved himself as a big-game player, three years after winning the NBL grand final series MVP as a rookie in the Wildcats' triumph over Wollongong.

Lisch and Redhage formed a potent combination in Puerto Rico after joining the Pirates on short-term deals at the end of the NBL season.

Redhage will return to Perth next month to join the Wildcats' preparations for the 2013-14 NBL season under new coach Trevor Gleeson.

But Lisch, who starred during a four-season stint with the Wildcats, will not be back.

He has signed a one-year deal to join French champions JSF Nanterre, where he will play alongside brother-in-law Trent Meacham.
