The struggling Townsville Crocodiles have confirmed the signing of WA product Luke Nevill as they look for a new spark to revive their season.
The Crocs have lost their first nine games and host championship favourites Perth in another tough test on Saturday.
A tumultuous campaign to date has seen both imports sacked on the eve of the new season and replaced soon after, while chief executive Ian Smythe stood down from his post last week.
Nevill joins the Crocs as the 11th player on the roster and was targeted as a potential solution to their rebounding woes.
A 218cm giant, Nevill played a key role for the Perth Wildcats in their run to the grand final last season but averaged just 4.9 rebounds.
Crocs chairman George Colbran said the recruitment of Nevill would not put the position of any existing players in doubt.
Nevill left the Wildcats at the end of last season to chase his NBA dream but failed to secure a contract in the big league.
