Finals fever in SBL
Finals fever in SBL

The State Basketball League has hit finals mode as the 2012 quarterfinals schedule was released today.

The best-of-three series are to be played over the next two weekends.

After a tumultuous final weekend of action that saw the men's top eight decided in the final seconds of the last game, the SBL now hits overdrive heading towards the Kickz101 State Basketball League grand finals on Friday 31 August (women) and Saturday 1 September (men).

The quarterfinals format will see the higher-ranked team receive home-court advantage and play games two and three at their home venue.

All game ones will be played this weekend on Friday 3 August or Saturday 4 August with games two and three, if necessary, to be played on Friday 10, Saturday 11 or Sunday 12 August.

Three clubs are hosting both women's and men's games due to finishing in the same half of the draw. For other clubs with both men and women in the finals, the league has tried to avoid clashes, where possible, with games on separate days or friendly times for fans to split their time between venues.

Tickets to all of the quarterfinals and semifinals are available on the door at the venue on game nights.

The week one match-ups are:

Women

Wanneroo (1) v East Perth (8) at Morley, Saturday 6pm

Willetton (2) v Lakeside (7) at Lakeside, Friday 7.30pm
