Jeremy McGovern was a notable absentee at West Coast training this morning in a strong indication he may miss Sunday’s clash against Brisbane at the Gabba.

The 23-year-old was not sighted during the light hour-long session at Domain Stadium.

Scans had earlier cleared the versatile tall of any ligament damage to his left knee after injuring the joint in the second quarter of Sunday’s western derby loss.

McGovern was not the only first-choice Eagle missing from training, with Xavier Ellis also a no show.

Ellis is yet to play this season after injuring a hamstring in the club’s NAB Challenge loss to Port Adelaide on March 8 at Norwood Oval.

The former Hawthorn premiership player was listed as still being up to two weeks away from a return in the club’s official injury list last week.

Jack Darling did not appear as he continues his rehabilitation from foot stress fractures in another concerning sign.

Callum Sinclair, Fraser McInnes and Tom Barrass all finished the session practising their contested marking as the trio bid for a promotion as a replacement for McGovern.

Sam Butler and Mark LeCras spent the session walking laps and otherwise took no active part in training.
