Cometti: Swans duo hold key to flag

Cometti: Comfortably my worst yet ...

It reads a bit like a merger between Apple and Microsoft.

Can you imagine recruiting Buddy Franklin and Kurt Tippett in consecutive seasons?

After watching the Sydney pair dominate the Western Bulldogs yesterday it occurred to me that they, more than any other players, will determine the outcome of the 2014 Premiership.

Which isn't to say Sydney will win it.

It's just that if they cut loose together, the Swans will almost certainly win any game against any opposition.

Which should be of more than passing interest to Fremantle who, if they win next week, will be rewarded with Sydney in Sydney.

Mind you, after watching Port Adelaide on Friday night, the Dockers, without Fyfe, probably without Barlow and maybe without the Pav, are no good things.

The fact Ross Lyon's team couldn't improve its percentage enough to move past Port means if they lose they finish fifth.

After spending most of the season decrying Nat Fyfe's round two suspension, I'm just hoping his disappointing behaviour against Hawthorn doesn't come back to haunt the Dockers ... and him.
