North big man arrested for assault
North Melbourne ruckman Majak Daw has been arrested by Victoria Police over an alleged sexual assault dating back seven years.
Daw was interviewed by detectives late last month over the incident which took place during 2007 but details only came to light this afternoon.
Police confirmed a 23-year-old man from the Melbourne suburb of Wyndham Vale had been taken into custody over the assault claim.
He had subsequently been released without charge with police to conduct further inquiries.
North Melbourne released a short statement this afternoon.
"No charges have been laid and the club has no indication any charges will be laid," the statement said.
"We request the privacy of all parties be respected."
